1 or 2 Year Program

Students in the Natural Resources Technology Program will spend a majority of their time in the forest either working on projects, studying, visiting work sites or spending time practicing skills or techniques. The program has access to large private forestlands, state forests, and a municipal watershed. It involves out-of-doors, hands-on field and class training to meet the growing need for technical people to help in managing our natural resources. Class activities include land and stream surveying, plant and animal identification, measuring, monitoring, sampling, and mapping streams and wetlands. Skills training also includes tree planting, pruning and thinning, wild land fire fighting, Christmas tree growing, brush picking, trail construction, and computer mapping with Geographical information and Global positioning Systems.
